That said, since OP seems to be having bad luck with UA agents, I don't have a ton of confidence in finding a good one. OP, what does EVA's site show for your reservation?
Thanks all for the responses. Yes, EVA business flights involved.
Lesson learned to not change partner biz flights.... oof.
The UA agents I seem to be getting are mostly foreign-sounding.
I logged into my United account today and the Yellow "waitlisted" is removed. However, I cannot see the seatmap for my first EVA flight (the one that was waitlisted) but I can for the 2nd - this is on the United site.
I used the 6 digit confirmation on EVA's site directly yesterday while it was still "waitlisted" on the United site - The EVA site allowed me to pick my biz seats and said "booking status: confirmed." Again, the EVA site said this when United's still said "waitlisted." I hope the "booking status: confirmed" includes my IAH-TPE leg and isn't just TPE-SFO one.
Since the "waitlisted" on United site magically disappeared today (no new email or anything), I then call up UA again to see if my IAH-TPE biz class is indeed confirmed. She said "confirmed from waitlist." Naturally, you would think that means yes, biz class, but I asked and she said "that means you are still on waitlist." She advised that it has not quite been 24 hours yet and to wait until that time to re-check. I also try calling EVA but automated messages said too busy several times. Soooo I still have no idea.
