Just spent the weekend at the Hay Adams. First time visitor to DC and was very happy with my choice.

Clearly an older property, but for a tourist the location was perfect, opposite the White House. Rooms recently decorated and up to good 5 star standards. Public areas did look a bit dated in my opinion and hallways could certainly do with refreshing.

All staff were great and nothing was too much trouble. I would also point out 2 nights were $900 all in. That compared to $3500 for the same 2 nights at the FS. Whilst I’m sure the FS is lovely, I struggled to see the justification as I was there to see all the sites.

The FS was in fact more per night than the FS Philadelphia, where I was last week and that property was stunning !
