Depending on when you're travelling, keep in mind that you can always plug a trip into Uber anytime and see wait times and prices - even if you're thousands of miles away at the time.

Of course, doing that at 3am SF time isn't going to give a good indication of what it'll be like at 8pm, and things will vary at least a little day-to-day, but if you're not travelling for a few days you can try doing it at 8pm SF time and see what it shows to get at least an idea.
