I've only stayed at the PH in that area, but it was excellent -- tied for my favorite PH overall. I'm going again in the next year and paying 40k/night with a TSU which helps stomach the high points cost. Even if I didn't have the TSU, I'd probably pay for the PH unless I had a clear other use for the points in the next few months.

Since they're so close, one thing you could do is split the nights between the two hotels. Save some cash/points in the beginning, and still finish the trip at the PH. This might be worth it if you're ever going to return and will thus have more confidence in the best decision for future visits.

One other thought, reserve both and reach out a day before the cancellation window ends and ask to lock in a room upgrade at each. Maybe that'll tilt the odds in favor of one or the other.
