I was looking at ways to keep dishes hot during the holidays. I like the idea of the chafing dish with the steam tray, but the open flame is a no-go. I was looking for an electric version, but those are too much. I did find Warming Trays, basically flat hotplates. How do these work? Are they worse or better than slow cookers?
I think it also depends on what the item is and how long you will need it to stay warm and what size the quantity is. I seem to remember seeing some kind of thermal foil thing that you can wrap around a serving dish.
