I can reconfirm the HIX Rotterdam does not have a safe in any type of room.

Had a stay last week and will post a review next week when back home.

I can add though the HIX Rotterdam highest category room : room with kitchenette does have a closet.
I had this type room while my chums had the basic room that indeed comes without a closet.
You'll be living out of your suitcase.
