Curio is going to attract tourists and business people who don't care about pricing, and/or tourists in town for a night or two to be close to old town. Every decent hotel has a niche and price point. The HGI is walking distance too and was $120 a night vs $150 at curio, but then I had to ask myself would I pay $30 more to stay at a Curio vs HGI, and obviously answer was yes, at least for 1 night.
It’s rare the delta is so small. Most of the time the Curio is double. As winter sets in the rates are sliding of course.
When there are events in the Tauron arena, the DT, HbH and HGI can be quite expensive.
