That’s correct. Unfortunately that’s QR’s standard policy. You would only be permitted to Platinum Lounge as a
oneworld Emerald passenger on an Avios upgraded ticket. Whilst it is smaller and not as grand as the Al Mourjan, the Platinum Lounge is still a decent lounge and a lot better than many other airline lounges across the World.
It is also worth noting you wouldn’t be permitted access to any outstation QR Premium Lounges either such as in SIN, BKK, CDG and LHR, though again in LHR you would be permitted in the “QR Frequent Flyer Lounge”.
