It's great for couples. Pool temp is for swimming but not for Jacuzzi which shares the same water.
More than twice the cost of the DT is the premium for the location, though its the going rate for other 5* in the Old Town.
As the DT is a very high standard, with a great spa, and taxis are cheap as hell, it's not a slam dunk.
Curio is going to attract tourists and business people who don't care about pricing, and/or tourists in town for a night or two to be close to old town. Every decent hotel has a niche and price point. The HGI is walking distance too and was $120 a night vs $150 at curio, but then I had to ask myself would I pay $30 more to stay at a Curio vs HGI, and obviously answer was yes, at least for 1 night.
