JAL is probably not going to move people in F. So it will be a question if people are willing to trade when you are on board....
Thanks, I figured they wouldn't move people, more figured if it was possible to ask (obviously if mostly couples, they wont switch). The flight is 11/21, so two weeks. I have seen them release the last two or 2/3 on several flights two weeks out since I have been tracking the last few weeks JL001 and JL015 seems to happen at least somewhat regularly recently, but I also saw it on the JFK flight. I agree it seems odd, as I have only ever been able to book business with miles on AA/AS before, and even that required a lot of planning. Maybe demand is lower than expected since reopening? I dunno. JAL's site availability went from 2 available to 0 right after I booked, so I assume it is all good, just seemed odd we couldn't select seats and my companion was worried it was overbooked or something.
