Also (any i am not sure on this) but if through BA site with BA exec club don’t you get free seat selection whereas through Qatar’s site with BA exec, some of the seats are being charged?
The Alaska flights not crediting to BA Executive Club is a known issue. There's a new thread opened seemingly every other day about this very thing on the BA sub-forum. The best way to get this sorted will be to call BA Executive Club to raise a missing Avios request. Sometimes they do credit it without asking for any more details but more often than not you may then be emailed a couple of days later following your phone call asking for your e-Ticket copy (they want they to ascertain the booking/fare class) as well as boarding pass copy, screenshot of a digital boarding pass or a photo of a paper one will do (they ask for this as a means of proving you took the flight). If you don't have a boarding pass, you can contact AS on Twitter or by email requesting for proof that you've flown and you can give that to BA instead. Anyway, I recommend you trawl this thread and especially post no #142.

Regarding seat selection, you will only get a full array of free seat selection across the board if you are BA Gold (or equivalent oneworld Emerald). All other tiers (or non-FF passengers) may be subject to paid seating or a limited selection of free seating.
