Personally I'd leave it for a while to see which way the wind is blowing, but if action is ongoing, then yes you are likely to find your options limited at short notice.

If you do want to investigate alternatives, do you have any one world miles available to book a cancellable reward flight? Alternatively, National Express do sell cancellable bus tickets (though it is a long journey by bus!). There may also be some more creative air routings available to you if needs must - e.g. via Belfast, Dublin or Amsterdam.
