The DL miles provided for flights tend to be worth less than the UA miles provided for flights. If that’s the trade-off for no free alcohol in premium economy/economy+, then I would prefer that AA and DL go back and increase the value of the miles gotten for such flights. But it’s probably not a trade-off, as much as the airlines having different priorities. Maybe there is also an aspect of this connected to major foreign airline partnerships?
