(I realize most people here are top-tier flyers who are met by company limousines, but I thought it was worth a try!)

PS By the way, is New Year's Eve 12/31 a holiday in the UK?
Although new year's eve is not a public holiday in England, many people will have been given time off between Christmas and the new year, taken it off as leave, or be off sick, so please do not expect too much whilst you are here.

As far as the tube is concerned, you will be able to get a seat at LHR without any difficulty but suggest not placing your bags too close to the exit doors unless you are well-insured.

If you are arriving late on 31st (after midday) be prepared to hold meaningful conversations with a succession of fellow travellers, which will be even more meaningful if you have already taken full advantage of the in-flight bar.

And if you are travelling back to LHR T4 on or after 7th January please note that you will have to leave the tube at Hatton Cross and complete your journey to T4 by bus.
