As a Gold member, am I the only one who thinks this is not as bad as it sounds?

What I am saying is: does C+ cabin usually get filled earlier than 3 days before departure? In my opinion this is a win-win situation: if there is no free C+ seat 3 days before departure I still get my regular seat while if there is still one available I get it for free.
