If all is on time, you should be fine with 50 minutes, but it’s tight. I’ve made a 58 minute connection in ICN once and would prefer not to do it again.
ICN is normally pretty good about having agents meet the flight with signs for passengers with tight connections. That being said, that’s normally for a flight that’s already delayed. With it originally scheduled for a 50 minute connection you aren’t leaving much room for error. International flights can be delayed for a myriad of reasons and late arrivals are fairly common.
Did you voluntarily make the change to DTW? If so, your options are fairly limited without a very sympathetic agent/supervisor. If it’s a result of a schedule change, you can always call back and request a different routing claiming you didn’t want this tight of a connection.
Check for alternate connections through ATL, MSP, and SEA.
