There's also Mestis, which is the 2nd highest league in Finland. They don't have a team in Helsinki either, but in Vantaa (home arena ca. 30-40min commute from Helsinki central) and Espoo (home arena ca. 15-20min commute with metro)

I would go with a HIFK game if you're staying in Helsinki. If you're really into hockey and want to venture outside of Helsinki, Tampere is probably the best hockey city in Finland at the moment, with a brand new arena and two good teams in the Finnish elite league playing there.
