Hey Seat2a, looks like this response for #35 got lost in the shuffle with all of the fun guessing going on!
Didn't Aeroflot fly to SEA for a while using IL-62s across the Pacific? I'm unsure where exactly the connection point was, but it was certainly in far eastern Russia. I'll guess VVO. As for the equipment on the first leg... I have no idea, but I'll start the guessing with an IL-96-300 (may be a bit early for that one).
My profuse apologies, dfw, and good on ya for even being aware of this one time service. However, with regard to this question, the SU flights were not in the schedule per the OAG I referenced. Additionally, I remember seeing Aeroflot TU-154s in Seattle back in the 90s. IIRC, they flew Magadan - Anchorage - Seattle. They may have been operating on behalf of a different Russian airline that sprouted up after the break-up of the USSR. I could be wrong here, but I also seem to recall the 154s once flying into SFO following a similar routing. WHBM would likely know for sure...
As for this question, we're looking for a different airline operating western built equipment.
Please guess again!
