They do spot checks in the subway in Madrid as well, saw some staff pop in, tap on people's shoulders and ask them to get out of the train because they were not wearing masks....
Germany requires masks, on all trains and buses and, I suspect, flights too. Had my mask on all the way from Duisburg to Basel on the train yesterday.
