I have had this both times I used a certificate this year. The free stay posts with one night credited and the paid stays before or after disappear. Marriott says they cannot see the dollar amount I spent and contact the the hotel. Hotel says they sent the information "manually" to Marriott but it never posted. Gave up. Second time just happened again, hotel says will send information and to wait 2-3 weeks for Marriott to respond. After 3 weeks if it does not post to contact the FD again.
In reviewing my stays I can see several had no bonuses this year. Hate the idea of spend time reviewing my account in detail but now realizing I probably need to.
I would never rely on the hotel to send info directly to Marriott for a missing stay. I ask that they send me a copy of the folio (if I don’t have it) and I submit it myself.
I try never to leave a hotel without my folio, preferably sent via email. Sometimes hotel insists there is no folio on reward stays, but they usually can find one after the fact when the stay doesn’t post.
