I'm not a native english speaker, so sorry if my posts sounds like that. 3 years was before covid, so really a lot things changed all over the world, even in japan. Before covid you could get this tickets from foreign agents, now they only sell them within japan.

That's also my experience. They ask for a japanese phone number which must be confirmed by sms. I also tried to install the Lawson Ticket App (which is only available in japanese google play store, so I had to get it as a apk), but the app recognize my foreign phone number and don't let me register.
