Which card do you have? Looking at the Sapphire Reserve and Preferred terms I do not see any requirement to call. They list the criteria for excluded vehicles, and advise contacting them only if you are not sure. There is no list.
I have the Preferred! I only found out about this a few years back when trying to rent in Dublin. I was curious to see if they had a dollar limit on cars they cover, only to be told they have a “specific list of approved cars”. For example, Skoda wasn’t covered, but eliminating an economy brand because it’s European is the opposite of what the terms state. I called today to see if a Model 3 and Model Y are covered and they said “Model 3 is approved, but we don’t list a Model Y in our system”. What are we supposed to do, make a call while in the rental lot to confirm each car available is covered? Or am I overthinking this?
