I think you should bank the 10,000 Avios and consider yourself lucky to have received that. I experienced a similar luggage delay in T5 earlier this year and got nothing but a copy-paste apology.

In fact the reason for my complaint was not just the delay but that BA staff provided incorrect information, telling us that bags were never loaded onto the flight and to fill in a form and leave the airport. Myself and a few others persisted because our AirTags proved the bags were indeed at LHR.
