A new NW Convert?

I started this thread in Mile Buzz (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=377845) but wanted some more specific info from the NW experts!

I’m going to be starting a fairly regular commute WAS-PDX. NW is looking more and more like a good option. I currently have not status with them, but a Silver on Delta (and done with them), Plat on American (on good terms with AA), US Gold (there about to die and don’t go to PDX).

WAS (DCA 1st, BWI 2nd and IAD 3rd)- PDX will be my main flight, but there will be up 5-10 other domestics all over the place, and about two to Europe and one or Two to asia each year.

I will keep some status on American (like bottom level, just for check in, exit rows and so on) and want to shift the majority of my flying to either NW or UA. I would so greatly appreciate any input from you guys!.

Two last consideration that makes me lean towards NW are:
1. I have a Plat Amex, thus I get free WC access.
2. I want to sit in F most of the time, if that means buying upgrades, paying more for the ticket, or just buying an F ticket I will do it. Being able to sit in F most of the time for free on cheapo tickets is a HUGE PLUS to NW.

Oh, one last thing. I will be able to make gold pretty much for sure each year, and with a MR or two, Plat on and off.
