My comment was mostly a response to the previous commenter who seemed to suggest that there was something laudable about the status quo because it's more egalitarian, which I think is a silly argument to make in the context of air travel.
just pointing out the tendency of some people asserting that they are more important to AC because they (or their employer) pay for more expensive tickets or fly more often, but perhaps people who spend on the cobranded credit cards or engage in other ways are equally or nearly as "important" in AC's perspective . In the end, it's AC's who makes the call.
