I'm more curious what are the alternate airports in case of bad weather in HKG like today... If the flight has to be diverted, where would it go? Would China or Macau allow for the plane to land given the quarantine rules for all passengers?
When AA flew 125/6 DFW-HKG and AA being AA they didn’t usually like to divert to Mainland China, the alternate was usually ICN.
If there’s an emergency, I’m sure Mainland China would allow the plane to land. Nowadays most major city airports of China have some level of international flying, so they could probably handle another plane
