If a hotel has multiple standard suite types, are guests protected in the suite type they ask for after confirming a SUA, or can properties move them around to other suite types after the fact?

I had an upcoming SUA moved to the suite type I didn't ask for, which was 200 square feet smaller. Looks like the manager my concierge reached out to fixed it (checking in tomorrow), but this had me thinking if there was even a set policy on this.
