But it reminds me. once it took me over 30 minutes to check in when taking a domestic UA flight to connect to SQ21 from EWR-SIN to come home, because I did not have proof of onward travel from SIN. Back then, I wasn't PR and my employment pass and the stamp in my passport showing I had the ability to work in Singapore wasn't enough! It took time for the agent to contact international desk to get authorisation for me to check in. Often when checking in overseas now, I will be required to show my NRIC &/or Re-entry permit when not travelling SQ.
Yes indeed - I am always asked when travelling back to Singapore if I am a resident or PR .....I guess that if you aren't you need to show a return ticket, as Singapore needs to know whether you have made plans to leave or stay ....
