guess we will see what happens. Haha.
Just stayed here on a points reservation made during the recent round of fire sales (27k points a night after Chase 4NF and 10% points discount). Booked Cozy room and received an upgrade to a 370sqft courtyard view room (which doesn't seem to have been part of the most recent round of remodels I've seen pictures of, but still in rather decent condition). Pleasantly surprized, this appears to be 4 or 5 categories above the 170sqft entry level room. App says Premium room with Club Lounge Access. So on the first night, I went to the lounge. Door was open, the attendant asked my name ... and to my surprise, he welcomed me in. Surprisingly nice lounge, newly remodeled, great spread with champagne and premium spirits. Second night, door open, same attendant, welcomed me back. On the third night, the door was closed, so I tried my key, which didn't work. I knocked and someone else came out, did some typing and said, "you don't have lounge access." I don't understand why I was granted access in the first place -- I see "Premium" as a room type and "Premium with Lounge Access" -- seems weird to assign the latter as upgrades and then to tell people that they don't have access (instead of assigning the former). Of course Diamond now comes with a full breakfast at Restaurant de la Paix (which goes for €45 and is quite good -- some of the best fruits I've had in Europe, excellent cold cuts, and even some Asian items), so the loss of the club lounge from day 3 onward isn't a big deal, and of course I didn't argue.
