Not only food. The theme was the chili crab.. but there's also the people who are attending.. as well as various other Singapore activities (spa/massage, nice hot weather, historical walks, shopping).

Is the Conrad that is being discussed the one that is advertised by Hilton as the "Conrad Centennial Singapore?" Would a couple of East Coast short haul sloggers be so disoriented by the flights over that the weekend will be finished before they got their feet on the ground?

Yes, that's the only Conrad in SIN. True, this Do is a hair above 48 hrs.. but the party starts as soon as everyone passes through immigration on Friday night.. and I suspect there will be a shortage of sleeptime and an excess of Do-ing/partying/eating/shopping.. there's always plenty of resting to do on the flight back home.

Would highly recommend a C/F ticket as a long-haul weekend can be rough.
