On the new A pier for sure there will be passport contol between the schengen and non schengen part. The transit bus is necessary to allow NS to NS transit passengers to avoid entering the schengen zone, but I certainly expect it will be possible for passengers so inclined to make their way from NS A pier to NS D pier without the bus, instead passing through passport control twice. It remains to be seen which route turns out to be faster.
I'm one of the "very few people" who is doing that transit ( flying in with Easyjet and then connect to an US departure or coming from the US and connecting to an Schengen easyjet flight ) who is still very frustrated that there is no way to connect to/from H &M gates to the main terminal without leaving the sterile area, making these connections absolutely unpredictable. It was easily doable pre-Covid - a 1 hour connection was fine- but these days... And yes, i'm talking about hand luggage only of course.
