I've just tried inhaling through my nose. Can confirm the air went straight up my nose and down into my lungs without going through any membranes, mucous or otherwise.

My $0.02 would be, if you're concerned about respiratory viruses you should wear a well-fitting mask or ventilator ... and if you aren't, don't. Don't fall for snake oil.
