TG466 MEL-BKK Fri 28 Oct A359, Seat 12A, 11:00 departure to 16:30 arrival

I was flying on an Apr 2020 ‘re-activated’ ticket AKL-BKK-AKL Q economy with GUP to biz. As the direct AKL service is suspended, THAI ticketed me on Qantas AKL-MEL, and for the return AirNZ SYD-AKL.

Offered 2x PDB which was Peiper. Staff friendly and attentive, although the use of door 01L saw quite a stream of Y pax through the J cabin.

First Drink
- Was not asked for my preferred drink after departure. An oversight, as others were
- A small bowl of nuts/ dried fruits was delivered
- I had a beer

Lunch (90 min after departure)
- No printed menu.
- Appetiser was smoked duck breast with a small side. Was OK, but lacked any flavour
- Choices were Salmon Choochee or a Beef dish. The salmon was excellent
- Next was a cheese board, grapes and port. The grapes not fresh, cheese was ok (too much).
- Last was a dessert, a kind of soft apple crumble, in a pool of custard. Not my kind of dessert
- One Red and one wine only available. The white was fine, maybe a chardonnay? (but I know little of wines)

Second serve (single plate) - 2 hours before landing
- Pork fried rice (can’t recall the other choice). Not appetising, needed prik nam pla!
- Small fruit bowl was good.
- A bread roll - no idea why. Perhaps matched the other option?
- A cream donut/profriterole (?). Didn’t touch it as was full.

Overall service was good (trying hard), meals were OK. Drink selection so-so.
Wear evident in the seat - pilling of the seat cushion fabric, scratching/marking plastic surrounds.
