Wait, if AF has suspended this but not KLM, can we purchase the option through KLM even if the itinerary is on AF, and earn XPs anyway? Anyone have data points on this?

I came here to ask/see if people are actually using this as a proxy mileage run (that doesn’t involve extra flying) because I certainly do need extra XPs. My upcoming itinerary offers SAF for 851€ and I’m seriously considering it since there is no way 851€ would ever earn me 85XP by flying (save for a mistake fare). It may not be enough to confirm Platinum for next year, but it’d give me a serious leg up for 2023.

So, back to the first question: does purchasing via KLM work on AF-operated itineraries?
