Whenever I book flights with LH Group, I have a problem that their booking engine suggests shorter layovers than I'd like. They are doable, but not comfortable and since I'm usually not in a hurry, I would rather spend more time at the airport than having to run for my next flight (particularly when it comes to transfer at FRA). ......Because we just had a 10 hour layover in the Frankfurt FCT. It was fantastic, but I woke up in Jo'burg looking like a bag of spanners (I think I overdid it in Frankfurt
). But to answer the question, I had similar short layover problems when booking directly with Lufthansa, but no such problems booking through Expedia, with the added benefit that I received full first class status and award miles for a companion fare ticket price.
