Same here as an AMB member. No upgrade even though Atlantikos, the main restaurant, was closed due to low occupancy. Both Astor Lux and Imperial Suite were showing as bookable on App when I checked in. The only tangible benefit as Bonvoy elite is the comp breakfasts which are excellent. The sushi and kushiyaki from St Regis bar are delicious as well.
The resort is luxurious and the view is wonderful. This resort is superb redemption value, especially for non-elites, for the Miami Beach area. Bonvoy Platinum could be the sweet spot as you get comp breakfasts. My real gripe is poorly managed minibar department. I am fighting a $100+ minibar bill which I didn't consume.
You may want to double check or photograph the minibar when you arrive.
Ugh - when I was there last time (as only Titanium), they insisted they don't do comp upgrades to the 2-bedroom royal suites (which I've gotten several times before), so I assumed they would still upgrade to Imperial Suites. Seems they just don't care about elite upgrades anymore - the front desk is far from friendly here, in my experience. But yes, breakfast is the best!
