I booked three award tickets for December travel and finally just received my Silver Medallion and I'm bummed to see that my tickets say they're not eligible for complimentary upgrades. I do have a Boston trip coming up in two weeks, and I paid for economy class on that ticket, so I'll be on the 24-hour list for upgrades on that. And I just went to LGA earlier this week and while I didn't have SM yet, they upgraded me the day before to Comfort+.

Why aren't award tickets - I used miles to buy them - eligible for comped upgrades?
