Yes.

As far as the comparability, I have both cards, platinum status really depends on where you stay as far as quality of breakfasts and upgrades (no different than Hilton really) though at least Marriott hasn't gone down the path Hilton has with breakfast benefits in the US yet. The $300/yr dining credit broken up into monthly pieces is probably easier to use than the Hilton resort credit which only applies at certain hotels, if you can deal with the monthly nature of the Bonvoy card.
