I would offer that row 8 is not bad. Normally, I don't like a bulkhead row but there's no hard bulkhead - just a "flap" behind the row 7 seats. Because of this, there's plenty of room to store your bag under the seat in front of you. Also, because the curtain is there in the aisle, there are far fewer people walking past you up and down the aisle to use the lav. I usually get bumped a lot in the aisle seat but 8C and 8D work out pretty well for me.
I flew in 9A on Friday and omg, it was really bad. I can't believe they call this MCE. Not enough legroom for an average height person like me, and not enough room for my laptop so I couldn't work. It was so bad that I canceled my non-stop return flight and replaced it with a connection on different equipment.
