...also, I just want mention that I'm not even sure when you check into hotels if any of them actually look at the requirements for booking the rate you received. I've booked rooms with corporate rates, AAA and other special codes, and not one hotel has asked for membership cards or corporate business identification, including resident rates. That's just been my experience. I also don't take it for granted that 100% of the time I will not be asked for proof, and be prepared to pay the rate i qualify for.

Many of the hotel forums on flyer talk list discount codes that are active for most chain hotels. Those help out quite a bit, and also using the country websites for their hotels.
