This is exactly what I asked to Customer Relations after the flight - if I received a Band 1 mini-salad on LCA-LHR (picture attached), was this (1) a mistake, (2) a peculiarity of this particular flight, (3) should they have warned passengers at check-in that there was no full meal service on board, (4) or were meals loaded that the crew failed to deliver.
I got a response which stated something along the lines of ; "Sorry you were unhappy with the quality of the meal on this flight, we know how important is to be served an appetising meal, we understand how frustrating it must have been, I will pass your comments to catering, Please accept 15000 avios",
So unfortunately, none the wiser as to whether this was a one-off or a regular thing on this flight.
