Check In I called the hotel a couple days before arrival to inquire about a nearby interstate exit closure during events at Tacoma Dome. The person who answered didn't know anything about the exit closure, but read me the riot act about checkin. She said that there would be a crowd of people waiting and rooms would not be ready, and said they would run out of parking.So when we arrived an hour before checkin began, I was delighted to be offered early check-in for $200. The room, which can be as low as $100, was already over $500, so this turned out to be a very expensive, mediocre room. In fact, our view of the roof of the restaurant appeared to be the worst view in the house, but that is the room we were offered early. Room The room is dated, but not badly worn. The beds were comfortable (but the pillows were awful), everything in the bathroom worked, and overall it was very clean. Service The hotel staff tried their best under difficult circumstances. Every over-fifty year old in the Puget Sound region wanted to hear Elton John's concert on his final tour at the Tacoma Dome right outside, but the hotel simply could not gear up with extra staff for this event. The people in front of me in line at checkout complained that they just barely made it into their room in time to get to the 8 PM concert.But I had some idea of what to expect before arrival, and again will say that the staff did the best they could. Dining There was free breakfast offered in the on-site restaurant, but the wait for service was too long. Location This hotel is right outside the Tacoma Dome, and is great to avoid any traffic congestion driving or safety concerns walking. Overall I would recommend this hotel for an event at the Tacoma Dome, but get there early and spring for early check-in.
