I think that unless you get a email or text from BA saying that checkin is being kept open later, you should assume that the original check in deadlines will apply.

A few years ago in Las Vegas I got text as the las Vegas to londoon flight was 3 hrs delayed in that case check I was open till 1hr prior to the new flight time
