They lost mine on two consecutive trips to San Diego. First time, they had no idea where it was til it showed up 2 days later. They gave me a reimbursement for items purchased as well as a courtesy credit of $750ish.
I immediately purchased Airtags for my luggage. My very next trip, I arrive in San Diego, no bag again. I used the Find my app and it located to be in San Diego. It then showed it was in San Jose a few hrs later. Never got off the plane in San Diego... I showed baggage service office my information and they said that they would call and get it routed to San Diego. Literally 5 hrs total and bag was with me. They gave me another $400 voucher that time...
