I don't think the train station is that near the museum. I drove there and even from the moment I turned into the road leading to the museum, it was still quite a long way past the Mercedes Benz World to the parking lot.
The nearest train station is Byfleet and New Haw - outside the travelcard zones, and probably a half hour walk to the museum. Not that nice a walk either! Unless you like supermarkets and Amazon warehouses.
