I am landing on Nov 1st so have got mysos app approved and have filled in the visit japan Web.
it is a little time consuming but the firm is not too bad and saves writing it out

It looks like for any later visits ie in new year I will only have to fill out one form the visit japan form.
I may fill out the paper customs and immigration form just in case there is a problem with the phone on arrival
