SYD PER is 2041 miles ~4 hours, a time zone change and an expensive route. (NYC-LAX is 2641 miles) Then a few hours drive to Margaret River. With only 14 days OP does not have the time visit the east coast and west coast, unless they want to spend a long going to-from airport, at airports and in thin metal tubes.
