Ah I see! Any chance the overnight layover is what caused it? Versus say if you had a 10 AM --> 10 PM layover or a midday 6 --> 9 AM or 6 --> 9 PM layover? Also hope you get adequate compensation in your complaint - well deserved

Overnight layover could have but the FCL A check in agent told me, before i told Her, i had 2 bags to be loaded….. not sure what their excuse will be given the circumstances & yes, on a F ticket & HON, some service recovery ought to be forthcoming, in fairness i do consider this a rare event
