The room had a small desk and a nice big, modern one sink bathroom with a large shower and no tub. We had buffet breakfast in the restaurant as the lounge is closed on weekends. Eggs to order and the typical breakfast accompaniments. During the week the lounge was quite busy at breakfast. Typical breakfast fare along with cold cuts and cheese. Everything promptly replenished if needed. The staff was very friendly. At night the lounge offered three or 4 hot dishes along with sandwiches, fruit, salad, cheese, crackers, and raw vegetables. Pour your own alcohol and fill out the slip. The first floor bar area was very nice and huge. It also had four or 5 alcoves with seating for 8 with a big screen T V in each alcove along with a remote to watch whatever you wanted. Was the hotel luxurious, no, but it is a cat. 5 and a good use of a certificate and the weekend rates are low. I would definitely stay there again. Be sure and check your folio before leaving. There was a room service charge on our folio that was not ours. It was removed with no problem. Parking was $25 a night. Lots of traffic on the weekend due to being directly across the street from the Galleria. Be sure and try one of the Pappasito's restaurants if you like mexican food, especially the fajitas. The Pappas brothers also have seafood/steak/bar-b-q restaurants but did not try them.

In my experience, for the rate the JW charges, you'll be better off booking at the Westin Post Oak, or the other one attached with the Galleria. Traffic and parking is a nightmare in the whole area, but you can avoid a lot of charges by just staying within the Galleria itself. Be advised the Sheraton Suites just around the corner was under renovation and will be independent of the Marriott umbrella soon, if not already.
