Needless to say that if the issue is capacity, there are incidentally a number of things that could be done by reworking the existing overall physical space:

- none of the cabanas are in use and I don’t believe there is any plan to use them again. So the whole back area is unused apart from the rather snaky corridors to the toilets;

- the boardroom was closed and replaced by some silly pods none of which ever seem to be in use;

- more complex as it is not directly part of the CCR but the spa is also closed indefinitely. The spa area is large (separately, there are small spa areas in t5b, t3 and arrivals).

All three spaces (in t5A departures) were effectively devoted to the lounge experience of f customers. All have been enhanced (well before access rules were changed incidentally) without f pax getting anything in return, and to my knowledge, none are due to be reintroduced (not sure if some extra showers might be built where the spa was, but whilst again others’ experience may differ, in my case, I’ve never had to wait for a shower and I use those every time I transit from long haul which is often).

To echo what others suggested above, if overcrowding is more of a problem that in my experience, there is fairly significant capacity that could be regained with internal work. Additionally, the terrace organisation is probably not great at optimising space with those three pretty huge quasi-booths each often used by 1-2 people whilst furnished to sit 5-6 more than comfortably. Replacing by, say, 5 smaller quasi-booths instead would undoubtedly improve efficiency.
